Dr. Amanda Gillen DVM

Dr. Amanda Gillen is a UC Davis graduate with over 18 yrs of experience in the veterinary medical field. She has lived in the Santa Clarita Valley for the last 12 years, except for the 4 yrs she attended UC Davis.

She started out as a veterinary assistant, then became a veterinary technician, and attended Pierce College, in Woodland Hills, where she earned her A.S. in Pre-Veterinary Science. She then attended CSUN, and was accepted into UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine in 2002, graduating in 2006.

Dr. Gillen then returned to Santa Clarita, and pursued her interest in the areas of emergency and critical care medicine, and surgery. While the emergency field certainly presented her with the medical challenges she thrives on, it also lacked the follow-thru, and on-going relationships with the clients and patients she bonded with.

Dr. Gillen left the emergency field to pursue her interest in general practice, and to achieve her goal of providing outstanding preventative care, and to continue to develop her passion in internal medicine and surgery.

She is thrilled at the opportunity to provide pets and pet owners in the Santa Clarita Valley with a unique experience in veterinary care- an experience that she hopes will be a "paw above" the rest!

In her personal life, Dr.Gillen shares her home with a variety of fur babies, including 3 dogs, and a handful of felines, which certainly keeps life interesting!

On a two-legged note, Dr.Gillen is fortunate to share her life with her patient, doting, partner, and incredible father to her amazing toddler, who is the inspiration of both their lives.

Debbie Blaisdell

My name is Debbie. I live in Frazier Park and love the drive to canyon country everyday for work. I currently have 2 dogs, 2 rabbits, a bird and a cat. If my love for animals doesn't keep me busy enough, my husband and I have an amazing baby girl who keeps us rather busy with all her adorableness.

I have been working with animals for over 10 years and graduated Pierce College's RVT program in 2012. I just recently took my boards and became an RVT. Since childhood I knew I wanted to work with animals in some way, and that passion was confirmed when I started volunteering for a veterinary hospital when I was 15. I've never turned back since.

I love spending "free time" with my family and pets, scrapbooking, taking photos, hiking, watching movies or playing the piano.

I am ecstatic for the opportunity to help pets and pet owners in the Santa Clarita Valley with our top of the line equipment we have at advanced care animal hospital. I love working in private practice; it allows for so much one on one with the patients. I look forward to making your pets part of my extended family- watching them grow over the years.

Jennifer Terry:
Since childhood, Jennifer Terry knew she was an animal lover. She began bringing home and caring for all kinds of critters at a very young age, which paved the way for a compassionate heart and many rescued animals over the years. She enjoys spending free time at home with her pets, reading, and practicing yoga.

Since 2005 she has volunteered for rescue organizations and worked for animal hospitals all over the San Fernando Valley.

In 2013 she will complete her Bachelor of Science degree in nursing. Her passion for animals and for medicine has kept her bonded to veterinary medicine and she plans to integrate her nursing career with her passion for companion animals.

She has worked with Dr. Gillen for many years, and cannot recommend her highly enough. Besides being an excellent clinician, and surgeon, Dr. Gillen truly cares for her patients. Jennifer wouldn't even consider anyone else when it comes to the care of her own pets! Jennifer is honored to be a part of the Advanced Care Animal Hospital Team!
